Both premier and white u17 boys teams competed in the U19 division at the Kapsalis Cup with the Premier boys winning the gold bracket in a penalty shootout, while the white team lost out in a penalty shootout in the silver bracket. A great weekend for both teams, The premier team’s results were as follows – Won 1-0, lost 3-2, won 2-0, and then tied 3-3 and went on to win in a penalty shootout. The white team won all 3 round robin games 6-0, 1-0 and 2-0, then tied their final and unfortunately lost on penalties.

A 5 game weekend came to an end with an unfortunate 2-1 loss to Oak Brook Soccer club in the final of the PUMA Champions Cup College Showcase. We had a great start to the tournament with Saturday bringing a 2-0 and 3-0 win respectively. We had an 90 minute delay to our first game on Sunday and even when the game started it took us a while to really get started with the score 1-1 at half time, we picked it up in the second half and eventually won 4-2. With these results we progressed to the semi final where we faced TCSA soccer club. I thought the game was quite comfortable but the girls managed to make me a little bit nervous by allowing a goal right at the end of the game to make it 2-1. The final was everything you could expect from a 5th game in 2 days, more a battle of who could run more than a game of soccer, but i thought we played pretty well and had some very good chances to win the game and at the very least tie the game. I have a feeling that the outcome of the game would have been very different had the game been the first of the weekend instead of the last. All in all it was good preparation for our quickly approaching league season.
